Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is essential in ensuring accurate cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with internal controls. As a strategic partner to plant leadership, the Controller will drive operational efficiency, cost management, and profitability. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and detailed variance analyses. • Prepare financial statements, operational reports, and key performance indicators to guide decision-making. • Oversee standard costing processes, including bills of materials, labor, overhead rates, and production variances. • Analyze inventory valuations, coordinate cycle counts, and manage physical inventory processes. • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, supporting long-term financial planning and capital expenditure analysis. • Collaborate with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational productivity. • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. • Support audits by maintaining thorough documentation and resolving any issues promptly. • Develop and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. • Partner with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, and corporate finance, to enhance financial processes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting roles. • Strong understanding of standard costing methods and manufacturing financial practices. • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards. • Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling. • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights. • Familiarity with internal controls and compliance standards. • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to manage teams and work across departments.
