Description Our client is looking for an accomplished Controller to join a thriving construction company located in the Mahwah, New Jersey area. This role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in construction accounting and leadership capabilities. As a key member of the executive team, you will oversee financial operations and contribute to the company’s strategic growth. Salary is 140,000 - 150,000. Responsibilities: • Supervise and provide guidance to a small accounting team, ensuring high performance and accuracy. • Manage all aspects of company billings and ensure timely invoicing. • Collaborate with senior management on special projects to support organizational goals. • Identify and implement system improvements and process enhancements for operational efficiency. • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to align with company objectives. • Prepare detailed cash flow analyses to maintain financial stability. • Oversee the monthly financial close process and generate accurate financial statements. • Conduct job costing and analyze project profitability to maximize returns. Requirements • 7+ years of experience in construction accounting within small to mid-sized organizations. • Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams effectively. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Expertise in job costing and profitability assessment. • Experience in overseeing financial close processes and preparing financial statements. • Proficiency in implementing system improvements and driving operational efficiencies. • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
