Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting practices. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering collaboration across departments to drive operational and financial success. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, project contract administration, and labor compliance processes. • Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax filings, and regulatory submissions. • Monitor and manage daily cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting to support financial planning. • Establish and enforce internal controls, accountability measures, and real-time reporting systems. • Supervise journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial close processes to ensure accuracy. • Oversee subcontractor contract administration, including certified payroll and project cost tracking. • Coordinate invoicing, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. • Support audits by providing accurate financial records and implementing recommendations from audit findings. • Identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving measures across financial operations. • Train and develop accounting personnel to ensure team growth and preparedness. Requirements • Proven experience in financial management or as a Controller. • Proficiency in accounting software and financial platforms. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. • Expertise in preparing financial statements and reports. • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and tax preparation. • Effective leadership skills with the ability to train and develop teams. • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities. • Ability to collaborate across departments to achieve company goals.
