Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a growing manufacturing facility in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee and manage critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting practices. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and contribute to the success of a company specializing in medical device production.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all general ledger functions, including the monthly close process.
• Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Lead the preparation and execution of annual budgets and forecasting activities.
• Handle tax compliance and coordinate audit-related tasks with external parties.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, ensuring accurate cost accounting procedures.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory controls, including planning and analysis.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
• Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, encouraging attention to detail and teamwork.
• Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational and strategic goals. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of management experience, including supervising direct reports.
• Expertise in general ledger management and monthly close processes.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Proficiency in handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Familiarity with inventory controls, planning, and analysis.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
