Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Walnut Creek, California. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a deep understanding of accounting practices and financial management. Responsibilities: • Supervise daily accounting functions, including general ledger activities, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in maintaining accurate accounting records. • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and accurately recorded. • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance the reliability of financial reporting. • Oversee tax compliance and the preparation of regulatory filings to meet legal requirements. • Manage corporate governance and enforce adherence to financial policies and procedures. • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity and support capital expenditures. • Provide data-driven financial insights and recommendations to assist with strategic planning and business decisions. • Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Managing Partners. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. • Extensive knowledge of accounting practices specific to law firms. • Proficiency in month-end closing processes and financial reporting. • Strong expertise in cash flow management and forecasting. • Experience with document control and compiling financial documents. • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and tax filing requirements. • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills. • Ability to provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership.
