Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Newark, Delaware. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and guiding the organization’s financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Develop and manage budgets, accurately forecasting revenues and expenses to maintain financial stability.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the reliability of financial data.
• Supervise and lead the accounting team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff responsible for payroll, compliance, and accounts management.
• Provide strategic insights to executive management on financial planning, risk assessment, and investment opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements, coordinating effectively with external auditors during annual audits.
• Conduct regular audits and establish corrective measures to address discrepancies in financial records.
• Collaborate with management to align financial goals with overall business objectives and long-term strategies.
• Oversee compliance processes to ensure alignment with industry standards and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for all financial operations and transactions. Requirements
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools used for reporting and accounting.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring accounting teams, including hiring and performance evaluations.
• Ability to develop and implement effective internal controls and auditing processes.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial insights to management and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
