Controller

We’re looking for a Controller based in Edmonton, AB in the professional services industry. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. Controller responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes
• Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and best practices
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
• Mentor and support accounting staff to promote professional development

The successful candidate has:
• 2+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities
• CPA designation or equivalent accounting qualification
• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting
• Proven experience improving systems, processes, and internal controls
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities

Compensation and benefits:
• The discussed salary range is $100,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
• Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
