Overview

History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,000 licensed EMT, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin with over 55 locations. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

 

EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior provides the highest quality care in emergencies and scheduled medical transports.

 Day and Night shifts available. 
Responsibilities

The Controller is responsible for handling day-to-day ambulance operations alongside Dispatch, Operations, Fleet, Risk, and Scheduling. Daily tasks include, but not limited to, daily crew pairings and staffing, movement of fleet, working with multiple departments, handling controller and psych line phone calls, and assisting with crew issues.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Works with station managers regarding equipment, schedules, and employees.Responsible for daily crew pairings and moving vehicles.Works with fleet regarding preventive maintenance and vehicle issues.Accurately complete, organize, enter/file all necessary documentation.Be able to critically think through crew issues that arise and come up with resolutions.

Qualifications

Ability to maintain composure in an emergencyAbility to learn policies and procedures and recognizing when to apply themMap reading skillsProblem solving skillsMust possess excellent interpersonal skillsShould have “whatever it takes” attitude to get the job doneAbility to multi-task and handle a fair amount of stress when busyAlways maintain a positive and professional attitudeRelated experience in Superior Communication Center preferred

USD $26.00 - USD $36.00 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience
