Description Job Summary: We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Controller to join a privately owned group of businesses and take full ownership of internal financial operations. The goal: provide real-time insight into company performance with monthly financials and job-level reporting. The ideal candidate is a grounded, hardworking professional—someone with strong financial acumen who can explain numbers clearly and wants to be a true partner to the business Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements across multiple entities (QuickBooks Desktop) + Lead job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking for projects + Deliver accurate and timely financials, including key deadlines + Manage year-end close and coordinate with external CPA firm on tax and property filings + Supervise and support two direct reports handling payroll, AP/AR, billing reconciliation, and job cost accuracy + Help the Owner and President understand financials by explaining accounting in plain language + Collaborate with leadership to analyze project performance and profitability Requirements Qualifications: + Solid experience in construction accounting, including job costing and WIP tracking + Background in small business or multi-entity accounting preferred + Willingness to handle agriculture-specific accounting (training provided—no prior ag experience required) + CPA not required – we value hands-on experience and practical knowledge + Strong communicator – able to explain financials in plain language + Proactive, down-to-earth, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
