Key Responsibilities: + Financial Management: Lead financial planning initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. + Construction-Specific Accounting: Manage processes related to percentage of completion, WIP (Work-In-Progress), and job costing analysis. + Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, tax laws, and company policies. Oversee preparation for audits and manage reporting to stakeholders. + Technology: Oversee the utilization of accounting systems, including construction-specific ERP platforms, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy. + Team Leadership: Mentor and coach accounting staff, building a collaborative and efficient team environment. + Risk Mitigation: Develop internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory adherence. + Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership and project managers to provide insights and recommendations that improve profitability and operational decisions. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field + 5+ years of experience in accounting leadership roles, preferably within the construction or project-based industry. + Proficiency in job cost accounting, percentage of completion method, and WIP reporting. + Advanced knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks) and Excel. + Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting teams. + Strong communication skills to effectively engage with leadership, project teams, vendors, and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in construction payroll and subcontractor payment processes. + Familiarity with construction contracts and bank draws. + Track record of implementing process improvements to streamline financial operations.
