Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our dynamic real estate and development company based in Mineola, New York. This position offers the opportunity to lead a small team and play a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring organizational success. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting. • Supervise and mentor two direct reports to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial tasks. • Utilize Timberline software and Excel to maintain accurate financial records and streamline processes. • Ensure proper documentation and control of financial records in compliance with company policies. • Scan, compile, and organize documents to support financial audits and reporting requirements. • Collaborate with leadership to provide insights and recommendations for financial planning. • Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement. • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and implement necessary updates. • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to stakeholders. Requirements • Proven experience in a Controller role or similar financial management position. • Proficiency in Timberline software and advanced Excel skills. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation effectively. • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team. • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail. • Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
