Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of a manufacturing organization in Corona, California. This role requires an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting, finance, and compliance to ensure accurate financial reporting and drive strategic decision-making. Responsibilities:
• Oversee core accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and month-end close processes to ensure financial accuracy.
• Conduct detailed reviews of inventory transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments on a regular basis.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial statements, job costing reports, and management dashboards each month.
• Collaborate with management to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models, providing insights for strategic planning.
• Perform job costing analysis to monitor profitability and variances against established budgets.
• Coordinate with external CPAs to manage annual income tax returns and ensure compliance with corporate tax provisions.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations while supporting S corporation reporting requirements.
• Lead the integration and maintenance of financial systems such as QuickBooks, Fishbowl, and TriNet to streamline operations.
• Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in management meetings and Board of Directors presentations, offering financial insights and updates.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role such as Controller.
• Proficiency in job costing, and standard accounting practices.
• Hands-on experience with financial systems including QuickBooks, and a manufacturing ERP system.
• Strong analytical skills paired with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
