Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead accounting operations within a dynamic multi-fund real estate investment company. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management, compliance, and partnership accounting, with a strong focus on growth and leadership. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. • Lead financial audits and compliance initiatives to safeguard organizational integrity. • Handle construction accounting processes, including managing large draw schedules with lenders. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring precise financial reporting. • Collaborate on partnership accounting matters, delivering timely and accurate results. • Support transactional activities, leveraging prior experience in commercial real estate investment. • Utilize property management accounting systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new tools. • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and long-term growth. • Mentor and guide less experienced accounting staff, fostering skill development within the team. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on detail-oriented work, preferably in real estate investment or related fields. • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate investment and REITs. • Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and financial reporting. • Experience in audit and compliance processes. • Familiarity with construction accounting, including lender draw schedules. • Expertise in partnership accounting and transactional activities. • Ability to adapt to property management accounting systems. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
