Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a growing company in The Woodlands. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations during a period of significant growth. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, process-driven, and eager to manage complex inventory needs while providing financial insights to support organizational decision-making. Responsibilities: • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports. • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. • Implement and maintain robust inventory accounting practices, including costing, reconciliation, adjustments, and valuation. • Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies and internal control procedures to ensure compliance. • Optimize QuickBooks usage for accurate data management and efficient reporting. • Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts by providing detailed financial insights. • Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax reports in compliance with state and local regulations. • Manage banking relationships, monitor cash flow, and oversee company credit card reconciliations. • Coordinate with third-party providers for payroll, employee benefits, and other administrative functions. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role. • Strong expertise in inventory and cost accounting. • Experience working in multi-state and multi-entity environments. • Hands-on approach with exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing small teams.
