Description Overview: A fast-growing venture capital firm is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead its financial operations. With over half a billion dollars in assets under management, the firm invests in early-stage companies across cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, digital health, and industrial innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven team that partners closely with visionary founders and is preparing to launch its next fund. Position Summary: The Controller will serve as the firm’s internal finance lead, reporting directly to the Founding Partner. This role offers significant growth potential, including a path toward a future CFO position. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and experienced finance individual with deep experience in fund accounting and a strong understanding of the venture capital ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: + Manage all fund and management company accounting activities + Oversee audit and tax processes in collaboration with external providers + Lead capital call and distribution reporting for Limited Partners + Monitor cash flow and coordinate capital activity across multiple entities + Develop and enhance internal financial controls and reporting systems + Prepare financial dashboards and reports for internal and investor use + Support fund modeling, valuations, and fundraising initiatives + Act as a strategic financial advisor to the firm’s leadership Compensation & Benefits: + Annual bonus potential of 15–20%, including participation in a carry plan + Comprehensive health, life, and long-term disability insurance + Attractive 401(k) plan + Flexible work arrangements – hybrid or fully remote + Unlimited paid time off Excited about this opportunity? Requirements Qualifications: + 5–10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within venture capital or private equity + Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund structures, and partnership accounting + Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, founder-led environment + CPA preferred; prior fund experience required + Ambition to grow into a CFO role Excited about this role?
