Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, we are searching for a Controller who will be responsible for leading our Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Financial Reporting function. You will develop a deep understanding of the business, as you will be required to partner with all departments, as well as play an active role in establishing and improving internal processes and financial controls. You will need to be adaptable to frequent changes in priorities, while being flexible to deadlines with short lead times.

Manage all aspects of the day-to-day team function, including:
Leading and coaching a team of +5 highly engaged professionals located locally and internationally Overseeing the month-end close and financial reporting processes, including: Overseeing and preparing auditable, reliable and accurate month end financial statements and analysis closing within 5 business days, partnering closely with the FP&A team Partnering very closely with the business stakeholders to ensure that financial statements represent complete and accurate costs aligned with weekly cost reporting as well as provide actionable insights into business performance. Analyzing period over period fluctuations and provide insightful commentary of key business drivers; respond timely to inquiries through research and analysis Leading and coordinating exceptionally successful internal and external audits, without any adjusting entries Continuously improve upon processes to reduce month-end close days and facilitate weekly cadence reviews Manage the full cash cycle of the organization including bank reconciliations, accurate revenue reporting working with PSP’s and overseeing the payments and fraud function. Optimization of Cash Flow to develop and assess short-term cash flow analysis Ensuring tax compliance through monthly accurate sales tax filings and owning any related CRA audits Developing and ensuring compliance with internal controls Other ad-hoc financial analysis as required All other duties, as assignedSound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for
You are an experienced controller with progressive accounting experience most of which is in a mid-large (+$500M revenue) manufacturing/consumer packaged goods environment You have a Canadian CPA designation with a minimum of 5 post qualification years of experience You have demonstrated the ability to coach and manage a team, and have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills You have strong knowledge of IFRS principles and Canadian tax requirements, experience in tax compliance and / or leading audits is a plus Strong Excel skills required with comfort using basic SQL queries, etc. Familiarity with a bookkeeping system required, Oracle is a plus. Your attention to detail is renowned. You are able to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment. You are a proactive problem-solver: You always look for a better, more efficient way to complete your own and the team’s tasks. You engage in the commercial business through cross-departmental partnering. You can run projects involving operations, procurement, marketing and finance.
