Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Troy, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, audits, and compliance, with a proven track record of ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial processes. This is a key leadership role requiring attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Responsibilities: • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and completed on time. • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership. • Oversee year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and adjustments, to ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Coordinate and manage year-end audits, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors. • Compile and present year-end financial statements, ensuring they meet regulatory and internal standards. • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting. • Monitor and manage compliance with financial regulations and company policies. • Provide mentorship and guidance to the finance team, fostering growth and development. Requirements • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or controlling roles. • Proven expertise in month-end and year-end close processes. • Strong knowledge of preparing and analyzing monthly and year-end financial statements. • Experience managing external audits and liaising with auditors. • Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities. • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
