The Controller will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal controls and enterprise risk management systems. This role will guide financial decision-making by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, analyzing financial control systems to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. The Controller will prepare monthly close reports, financial projections, and board-level presentations, lead annual budget planning, and oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll, and all costing/inventory transactions.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain internal controls and enterprise risk management systems.
+ Guide financial decision-making by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
+ Analyze financial control systems to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Prepare monthly close reports, financial projections, and board-level presentations.
+ Lead annual budget planning with the President; manage monthly implementation and audits.
+ Oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll, and all costing/inventory transactions.
+ Monitor product line profitability and manufacturing variances; drive cost productivity programs.
+ Manage financial IT systems, including ERP implementation and maintenance.
+ Recommend hardware/software upgrades to reduce downtime and cybersecurity risks.
+ Deliver accurate monthly forecasts and KPI reports; perform balance sheet reviews.
+ Collaborate with Directors to align cost with product value.
+ Partner with the Management team to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
+ Stay informed on market trends affecting supply chain and advise leadership accordingly.
Essential Skills
+ Accounting expertise including general ledger, month-end reconciliation, and financial reporting.
+ Cost accounting and budgeting experience.
+ Proficiency in Accounts Payable, financial statement preparation, journal entries, and Accounts Receivable.
+ Forecasting and payroll management skills.
+ Manufacturing experience is required.
+ 10+ years of experience in related fields.
+ ERP and Excel proficiency, including implementation experience.
+ Bank reconciliation, analysis, balance sheet, inventory, and cost analysis skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA preferred).
+ 5+ years in managerial/cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
+ Strong analytical and IT skills.
+ Solid grasp of KPIs and Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence.
+ Ability to balance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory in decision-making.

This role is based onsite for five days a week in a welcoming and friendly environment. The company has a culture rooted in humble beginnings, emphasizing collaboration and support among colleagues. The Controller will run all the Accounting and Finance operations in a smaller manufacturing company. Benefits are available.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
