Description Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Utica client of his that has a Controller hiring need. This organization with very good benefits is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee and optimize their financial operations. This pivotal role involves managing corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: • Help supervise daily accounting functions, including general ledger activities, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash flow management. • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to deliver accurate and timely financial reports. • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. • Lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to guide strategic decision-making. • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and oversee timely filings. • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect company assets and improve operational efficiency. • Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and banking partners to maintain smooth financial operations. • Identify and implement process improvements within accounting systems to enhance productivity and accuracy.
