Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization in Garden City, New York. This role is ideal for someone who excels in managing accounting processes and leading teams. As a key contributor, you will ensure compliance, streamline financial workflows, and support the organization in achieving its strategic goals. Responsibilities: • Supervise and lead the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations. • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliation and reporting. • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to ensure timely processing and resolution. • Develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies to support organizational objectives. • Ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements. • Utilize accounting software systems to optimize workflows and maintain accurate records. • Coordinate with project teams to manage construction accounting documentation effectively. • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to management. • Collaborate with HR for payroll processing and related financial activities using ADP. • Support CRM integration with financial processes to enhance reporting and client management. Requirements • Proven experience in a Controller or similar financial leadership role. • Proficiency in accounting software systems and CRM platforms. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Expertise in auditing standards and budget development. • Familiarity with construction accounting practices and documentation. • Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor staff. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
