Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong accounting foundation, technical expertise, and the ability to guide a growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, internal controls, and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and attention to detail.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP& A, legal, operations, and real estate, to support organizational initiatives.
• Oversee technical accounting matters, including leases and revenue recognition, while preparing detailed memos and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and lead the preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Supervise the accounting for over 180 leases, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and maintaining accurate records.
• Conduct risk assessments and design robust internal control frameworks to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external audits, managing relationships with auditors and ensuring audit readiness.
• Lead treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, payment processing, and bank relationships.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability within the accounting function. Requirements • Active CPA license is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory or Controller-level role.
• Strong foundation in Big 4 public accounting is highly preferred.
• Expertise in lease accounting (ASC 842) and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Proven experience leading external audits and managing auditor relationships.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in NetSuite; experience with lease accounting software such as Occupier is a plus.
