Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Midland, Texas. This role is integral to overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic initiatives. As a key leader within the organization, the Controller will play a pivotal role in optimizing financial processes and supporting long-term business growth. Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure the accuracy and security of financial data. • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department leaders to align financial goals. • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors for tax filings. • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering growth and ensuring high performance. • Analyze cash flow, working capital, and financial risks, providing actionable insights to executive leadership. • Support strategic decision-making by delivering detailed financial analysis for capital investments and operational improvements. • Oversee the implementation of accounting software upgrades and identify opportunities for process enhancements. • Ensure accurate job costing and inventory reconciliation, aligning financial data with operational needs. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in a leadership or controller role. • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. • Experience in job costing, project-based accounting, or industries like oil and gas or water services is preferred. • Proficiency in accounting software, with QuickBooks knowledge being highly desirable. • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
