Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Controller to lead and strengthen the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting, public company experience, and internal controls, and will bring expertise in preparing for IPO readiness. This individual will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining robust processes that align with SOX compliance while fostering collaboration across departments within a friendly and adaptable work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
+ Oversee the company’s financial operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance.
+ Spearhead initiatives to ensure the company is IPO-ready, including developing the necessary financial infrastructure, reporting processes, and controls.
+ Maintain and elevate internal controls to align with SOX compliance standards.
+ Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide audit-ready financials for external and internal reviews.
+ Monitor and interpret changes in accounting regulations; assess the impact on the company’s financial practices and ensure compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
+ Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Legal, and HR, to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure seamless collaboration.
+ Serve as a financial advisor to executives and management teams by delivering pertinent insights and solutions.
+ Present financial data and reports to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
Dynamic Environment Adaptation:
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with the team, embracing a friendly and adaptable work environment in a smaller office setting.
+ Proactively identify areas for improvement and recommend innovative solutions to enhance financial processes and systems.
+ Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability while handling the challenges presented by a fast-paced and evolving organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
+ Significant experience with technical accounting, public company audits, and preparing for IPO readiness.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and familiarity with SOX compliance.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex information to non-financial stakeholders.
+ Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and adaptable work environment, particularly within a smaller office setting.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
+ Experience with public companies or preparing a company for IPO.
+ Audit experience with a Big 4 or other reputable public accounting firm is a plus.
+ Familiarity with financial systems and reporting software.
