Description We are looking for a meticulous Controller to oversee financial operations and reporting for our non-profit organization in Des Moines, Iowa. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure compliance, manage budgets, and support the organization's mission by maintaining accurate and efficient financial practices. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. • Lead the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. • Supervise month-end close processes, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including grant accounting, to provide insights for decision-making. • Collaborate with teams to maintain and optimize accounting software systems, including NetSuite and Crystal Reports. • Support the organization’s financial services by implementing best practices and improving workflows. • Ensure proper documentation and reporting for grant funding, adhering to donor requirements. • Provide expertise in financial forecasting and planning to guide long-term organizational strategy. • Act as a key point of contact for external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable management. • Strong knowledge of auditing processes and financial compliance standards. • Expertise in budget preparation and grant accounting. • Proficiency with accounting software systems, including NetSuite and Crystal Reports. • Ability to manage month-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency. • Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis in a non-profit environment. • Exceptional organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
