Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations and lead a dedicated team to ensure accurate and efficient accounting practices. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a global leader in the poultry breeding industry. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. • Manage and lead a team of nine, including two direct reports, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Supervise the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Implement and manage accounting software systems, supporting operational efficiency. • Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and other financial records. • Develop and maintain fixed asset accounting processes to ensure proper tracking and reporting. • Collaborate with senior finance leadership to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives. • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards across all financial operations. • Lead efforts related to upcoming system implementation projects. • Provide mentorship and training to team members to foster growth and development. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + CPA required • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in manufacturing or cost accounting. • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving results. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Microsoft Great Plains. • Strong knowledge of operational accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. • Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
