Description Bridget Killen from Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic and expanding organization in the waste management industry to find a highly experienced Controller to lead financial operations and accounting functions across multiple business units. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll apply technical accounting expertise, oversee ERP implementation, and communicate financial insights effectively to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cost-of-service analysis. Key Responsibilities: + Accounting Oversight: Manage accounting functions across multiple entities, including general ledger management, consolidations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. + Financial Reporting: Prepare and present clear, accurate, and timely financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) for leadership. + Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and implement strong internal controls, policies, and procedures. + Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning efforts. + ERP Implementation: Oversee ERP system selection, implementation, and optimization to ensure scalability and efficiency. + Cost of Service Analysis: Conduct detailed cost of service analysis to inform pricing models and drive margin improvement. + Team Leadership: Manage and develop the accounting team across business units, fostering collaboration and professional growth. + Strategic Growth: Partner with senior executives on strategic planning, financial modeling, and expansion initiatives. + M& A Activities: Provide support for mergers, acquisitions, and other new ventures. Requirements Qualifications: + Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required). + Experience: 5–7 years in a senior accounting leadership role or as a Controller, ideally within a multi-entity or holdings company environment. + ERP Expertise: Proven success with ERP system implementation and optimization. + Technical Focus: Strong background in cost-of-service analysis; M& A experience is a plus. + Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial insights to both financial and non-financial audiences. + Leadership: A hands-on leader committed to team development and organizational success. + Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
