Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure accuracy in reporting for our client who we have worked with for many years. This role requires a strong background in accounting and leadership, as well as the ability to manage complex financial processes. Based daily in office in the Kenner, Louisiana area, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic team. This role will transition with the incumbent who is planning to retire. We have placed many people this client and they enjoy excellent tenure among the team as the company prides itself on taking care of the employees.
Everyday you will get to:
• Supervise all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Manage month-end close procedures, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee the budgeting process, providing analysis and recommendations to support organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including full-cycle accounting practices.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze financial data and generate insightful reports.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and forecasts.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Monitor financial performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate successful audits and reporting.
If you have a 4 year accounting degree and 10 years of full cycle, month end and accounting supervisory experience, this could be an excellent career move for you! Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, master's degree preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• Proven leadership and management experience within corporate or private business settings.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
• Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and full-cycle accounting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close and budgeting processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
