Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Controller.
**What you’ll do:**
**BASIC FUNCTION:**
The Controller serves as the finance business partner to the plant manager and leadership team, providing timely and accurate financial information and direction to enable sound decisions and drive management action. The Controller is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the financial department and the various systems & processes within this discipline, ensuring compliance to corporate financial policies, GAAP, and legal requirements. The Controller owns the balance sheet and account reconciliation process to maintain the integrity of the general ledger as well as the annual budget and monthly reforecast processes.
**ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS:**
• Act as a business partner, analyzing forecasts and actual performance of financial results, business drivers, and operational metrics and deriving forward-looking insights to drive management decisions / actions to improve operational and financial results.
• Ensure accounting and financial reporting is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Eaton Financial policies.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper documentation and adequate funding of accruals through individual account analysis and research of individual transactions.
• Lead the development of annual profit plan for the plant.
• Manage capital spending within profit plan for the plant.
• Manage and develop 2 direct reports and 1 indirect report
• Lead cost savings activities and drive financial decision making.
• Coordinates inputs from product line managers in completion of forecasts and profit plans.
• Ensure proper cost accounting and monitor cost variances. Support annual cost roll-up analysis and process.
• Provide additional analysis and reporting as needed.
• Ensure Inventory accuracy and control. Provide leadership and oversight of on-going the annual physical inventory.
• Improve financial and business practices.
• Build organizational capability by developing financial acumen within all levels of the plant as well as training, developing, mentoring and coaching finance / accounting team.
• Establish a work environment that encourages individual career development and growth. Structure and establish goals and objectives for the plant finance organization, which align to plant/operational goals as well as finance functional goals.
**Qualifications:**
**SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:**
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 7 years professional experience in accounting and financial analysis, minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management position and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of SAP system
• Strong manufacturing accounting background and solid understanding of financial accounting systems.
• Inventory control, cycle count and cost accounting experience.
• Production variance and PPV analysis and control.
• Trade Compliance experience
• Strong excel skills.
• Ability to prepare management level presentations and strong communication skills
• Strong analytical thinker and ability to solve complex issues.
