As the Finance controller, your role will be to act with objectivity as the conscience of the business, proactively managing risk, identifying and remediating control issues, ensuring complete, timely and accurate financial reporting, overseeing local Treasury operations.WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE Risk Management & Controls• Pro-actively lead the risk management agenda, ensuring high quality risk assessments are conducted and risks are appropriately managed• Understand root causes of issues and identify where controls are not operating and drive remediation through relevant business leaders• Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded and operating in line with the agreed global model• Oversight over financial controls operated outside of Finance (e.g. Supply Chain) and drive focus on operational controls across the business• Maintain and enforce relevant local authority schedulesAccounting• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting• Continuously improve the quality of accounting and implement changes in group & local accounting standards, policies & procedures• Be the key point of contact for Group Chief Accountant’s Department on all accounting mattersFinancial Processes• Implement programs led by Business Operations to drive world-class financial process efficiency• Eliminate, simplify, automate and/or centralise transactional activitiesExpertise Areas• Active oversight of relevant local filings, enquiries, issue management• Third Party relationship management where delegated by the relevant Global Expertise teamInternal & External Assurance• Liaison with Corporate Audit & ownership of any follow up actions• Owner of relationship with local external auditorLocal Treasury Operations• Work closely with Global Treasury and secure sufficient and cost-efficient liquidity, financing and FX hedging for Unilever Turkey and Central Asia entities considering all relevant FX, tax, legal and operating constraints• Provide oversight to Treasury operations to ensure compliance to Unilever’s Global Treasury Standard• Manage local bank relations• Implement required standards of risk control and maintain insurance against risks specified in Unilever’s Global Insurance & Risk Control StandardWHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Experiences & Qualifications• 15+ years of experience in Finance, with experience in business facing Finance roles• Strong understanding of different areas of business• Fluency in Turkish & English• Qualification and/or experience in Accounting and reporting• Qualification and/or experience in SOX, audit or risk management• Understanding of local regulations relating to accounting and taxation• Experience in control, design and assessment of business operations effectiveness• Significant experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders (including peers and 3rd parties) and holding others accountable• Significant experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders• Experience in M&A will be an assetSkills• Financial accounting• Risk Management• Financial controls• Stakeholder management• Effective communication• PrioritisationLeadership• You are an inclusive motivator of people.
