Controller, EMEA, Canada and Latin America
**Financial Reporting:** + Ensure the financial reporting process is in compliance with company, US GAAP statutory and regulatory requirements. + Act as lead person with the local authorities to ensure that internal control systems are reliable and financial statements are free from material misstatements. + Ensure that Finance responsible components of FCPA and Company compliance programs are adhered to. + Ensure that SOX principles are deployed and adhered to and for the formulation and implementation of policies. + Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency through effective KPI reporting and monitoring. **Controls:** + Oversee the establishment and maintenance of robust financial control environment across the EMEA, Canada and Latin America regions, including implementation of the global RCM. Regional lead for SOX 404 program, including establishing and overseeing the Controls Self-Assessment program for the region. + Conduct country reviews to identify potential business control weaknesses and accounting inadequacies + Liaise with ARA on planning, audits and follow-up including actions plans where weaknesses are identified and assisting countries with remediation of open audit findings. + Share best practices across region, and work with stakeholders (country finance teams, shared service centers, IS etc) to identify and implement process improvement initiatives. + Owner of EMEA, Canada and Latin America Delegation of Authority + Liaise with ARA on the guest auditor program + Oversight of the controls related to the European Logistics Center (Inventory Monitoring, Account Reconciliations), including remediation of any control deficiencies identified. This will be done in conjunction with the Inventory COE and the Global Logistics Organization. Additionally, the role may be responsible for making recommendations on the future roles and responsibilities related to ELC inventory. + Oversee the JDE implementations and the upcoming SAP implementation to ensure robust internal controls are in place with minimal impact to the PFC & CRFC **Technical Accounting:** + Support the EMEA, Canada and Latin America regions by providing expert accounting guidance on complex accounting issues + Work directly with the Corporate Accounting Group and Internal/External Audit to identify and resolve significant accounting and control related issues. Ensure consistency in the application of accounting policies across EMEA, Canada and Latin America, and lead implementation of new accounting policy/standards + Identify gaps and deliver effective training to EMEA, Canada and Latin America teams **Leadership / People Management** + This is a key leadership position within Regional Finance team and has key decision-making authority for allocation of work/job scope, promotions, and recruitment within the Controls & Reporting team. + The position holder will be responsible for providing effective guidance to local Finance teams and ensuring that work is allocated effectively, tasks are completed on time and talent is continually developed to meet the current and future needs of the organization. + Co-owner of the Emerging Markets Finance Compliance Committee, developing robust meetings and agendas for development of people in regions. + The position holder will be responsible for developing finance capability in the Finance team **Other** + Liaise with PFC & CRFC to optimize transactional processes Develop & implement a strategy to optimize transactional accounting activities in the EMEA, Canada and Latin America regions Stryker is a global leader in medical technologies and, together with its customers, is driven to make healthcare better.
