About the role:
To effectively and efficiently manage the Coventry Campus yard, Control Tower and local Linehaul operations, in line with the operational core values and in accordance with the principles of the Company ‘Mission Statement’.
To motivate, coach and develop a site team to achieve excellence in all areas of the operation. A focused and as necessary hands-on approach is required in some areas. The main role aim is to achieve excellence on standards of service and to liaise and work with the Control Tower manager to ensure that KPI’s and standards are achieved as detailed in the site plan.
Role specifics:
Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with within own area of control (as stated in the employee handbook/displayed at the location) in line with Location Risk Assessments Adhere to all Security Policies and Procedures as outlined in the employee handbook displayed at the location Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators are achieved Present a caring and helpful attitude at all times towards customers and all colleagues Ensure that all verbal and written communication is appropriate and in line with Data Protection Regulations Respect other workers religious/personal beliefs Comply with Company guidelines in relation to timekeeping, attendance, work performance, appearance and display appropriate behaviour whilst on site Ensure that the operational service provided by the Control Tower achieves and or exceeds Company minimum standards Review cost performance to ensure that costs are in line with agreed targets. Ensure that the site compliance schedule is regularly updated and that targeted improvements are achieved and maintained As outlined within the role core responsibilities, ensure that site health and safety procedures and safe working practices are implemented and strictly adhered to In conjunction with the Health and Safety department, ensure all areas of risk are assessed and documented appropriately Ensure that you are in possession of all appropriate data and information necessary to enter into cogent debate when challenged on aspects of the site performance Review monitor and ensure all site records are updated, particularly, but not exclusively transport, to ensure that these are in compliance with statutory and company requirements and that these will meet with strict compliance and audit procedures Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required in the context of the job role, or as instructed by the Campus Manager or Head of Department. Oversee Coventry Campus Control Tower operations Deliver outstanding service to our Customers, Hubs and Network of Depots and customers with a team driven to be the best they can be Achievement of Compliance Targets within the operation and Department through ensuring Legislation and Company policies are adhered to at all times Ensure resolution of operational issues, through proactive management of areas of concern, quick response to immediate problems and strategic planning of potential areas of weakness. Planning of contingencies in case of site failure. Encourage a competitive environment with clearly set productivity and service level targets for your teamsThe ideal candidate will have:
