Job Title: Control Systems Engineer
Job Description

The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for evaluating existing systems and participating in the design of plant control and instrumentation systems for various industrial applications. This role involves developing deliverables for industrial, power generation, water/wastewater, and federal projects. Key technical responsibilities include designing plant control systems using both Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), preparing P&IDs, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, cable schedules, schematics, and wiring diagrams, as well as developing procurement specifications and proposal documents for new projects.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate existing systems and design plant control and instrumentation systems for industrial applications.Develop deliverables for industrial, power generation, water/wastewater, and federal projects.Design plant control systems utilizing Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).Prepare P&IDs, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, cable schedules, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Develop procurement specifications and technical bid evaluations.Provide construction support and manage design budgets and schedules.Perform project field site visits as required.Recommend department plans, programs, and resources, including staff budgets and capital expenditures.Attract, retain, and develop talent within the organization.Support staff in identifying career development objectives and conducting performance reviews.Oversee department staff on execution standards, procedures, and policies.Essential SkillsLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)Minimum of 8 years of progressive experienceExperience with engineering for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work legally in the United StatesAbility to work well in a team environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited universityTravel for project installation and commissioning support across the USA may be requiredWork Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
