This position is offered on a short term contract basis, supporting a major oil and gas client on offshore operations. The role is integral to the Production/Operations Team and is responsible for the safe operation of plant equipment and systems, ensuring business objectives are met while maintaining high safety and process standards.
Key Responsibilities Operate, control, and monitor process plant and utility systems safely and efficiently in line with established safety management systems and procedures. Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment by actively participating in risk assessments, audits, and safety meetings. Perform watchkeeping duties to maintain plant integrity and stability during operations, intervention, and shutdowns. Devise and implement safe isolation of process equipment and systems for maintenance activities, ensuring proper reinstatement following completion. Support first-line fault finding and resolution for process and utility systems, enabling effective operational delivery. Maintain comprehensive records and logs, executing effective handovers at shift and crew changes. Engage in continuous improvement by proposing ideas and solutions to safely increase operational efficiency and reduce costs. Participate actively in the site competence scheme, including any multi-skilled tasks as aligned with the competence framework. Deliver routine production activities to ensure the facility meets integrity, efficiency, and hydrocarbon production targets. Aid in managing and executing emergency response actions as required. Ensure defect elimination and continuous improvement methodologies are promoted to maximize uptime and production yield. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader, including contributing to training, onboarding new team members, and executing plant startup and shutdown procedures. Qualifications & Experience Previous Operations or Control Room experience in UKCS BOSIET/MIST/OGUK certification. Recognised Apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ – Processing Operations (Hydrocarbons) or equivalent Level 3 NVQ – Maintaining Plant & Systems, or currently working towards this qualification. ISSOW qualification (preferred), Level 2 Advanced Gas Tester, Level 1 Production Isolation Authority.
