Airswift is seeking a Control Room Operator II to support a major E&P company in Scury County, TX.
The Control Room Operator II is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of oil and gas production systems through the centralized control room. This includes monitoring and adjusting facility processes, responding to alarms and system deviations, coordinating field activities, and supporting emergency response efforts.
This position requires a strong working knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations, facility control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs), and standard operating procedures. As a key member of our operations team, the Control Room Operator II ensures compliance with the company’s safety standards and environmental regulations while optimizing production output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and control production processes and equipment remotely via SCADA, DCS, and/or HMI control - systems, including pumps, compressors, separators, valves, heaters, treaters, and other critical infrastructure.
- Interpret process data to detect abnormal conditions, troubleshoot operational issues, and take corrective actions as required to maintain safe and stable operations.
- Coordinate and communicate with field operators, maintenance personnel, and engineers to facilitate routine operations, maintenance, and emergency response activities.
- Analyze trends and alarms to identify equipment inefficiencies, process upsets, or potential failures, escalating critical issues per protocol.
- Log and report all activities, alarms, and changes in system operations through accurate documentation and shift handovers.
- Support start-up, shut-down, and emergency procedures in accordance with operating guidelines and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policies, including the reporting of incidents and near misses.
- Participate in regular safety meetings, drills, and training activities.
- Assist in the development and refinement of control room operating procedures and best practices.
- Maintain high situational awareness and readiness in a 24/7 operational environment (may involve rotating shifts).
