Control Network Engineer – Operational Technology
Location: Chinchilla (Queensland) FIFO from Brisbane

Indicative assignment length: 10-month initial contract (subject to agreement)
We are seeking an experienced Control Network Engineer to join our client’s Upstream Operations team, providing expert technical support across all process control network systems and infrastructure. This role is offered on a 15/13 FIFO roster from Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and management of complex control network configurations, enhancing system reliability and operational efficiency. Collaborate with the Principal PACO Engineer to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient communication between control systems. Serve as the subject matter expert for control network configuration, diagnostics, and issue resolution. Interface with contractors to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned with operational goals. Support maintenance and reliability teams by setting network maintenance strategies and reviewing engineering documentation. Assist in managing telecom service contracts to ensure maximum value and performance. Contribute to the design, integration, and implementation of network architecture and communication systems for safe and effective asset operations. Provide hands-on support to field telecom technicians, including during tower-based inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Be available for after-hours support as required.
Skills & Experience:
Strong background in configuring and deploying industrial networks in oil & gas operations. ???????Proven experience delivering full project lifecycle support—from concept and design to execution and commissioning. Deep knowledge of network components: switches, firewalls, routers, MPLS, VPNs, and PCN networks. Proficient in network protocols (IP, routing, switching) and advanced troubleshooting. Experience with network management tools and environments such as ESXi, VMware, Windows Server, SolarWinds, and GE Pulsenet. Prior field experience in upstream oil & gas environments
Qualifications:
