This role will balance responsibilities between managing direct reports and contributing technically to embedded controls development projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a supporting role in strategic planning activities and provide input to ongoing discussions around continuous improvement within the Controls development process. Up to 5% travel anticipated **What you will do:** **  **   **_People Management_** _:_ + Manage direct reports, ensuring they are effectively allocated across various project teams. + Mentor and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. + Ensure that direct reports have the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed in their roles. + Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports, providing feedback and supporting professional development **_Technical Contribution_** _:_ + Develop controller models for system-level control algorithms and logic that provide superior performance, enhance reliability, and diagnostics. + Identify opportunities to enhance model-based design capabilities, enabling acceleration of value delivery to internal and external customers. + Work with software development teams to integrate model-generated software into application software. + Adhere to model development standards and processes. + Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects. **_Strategic Planning_** _:_ + Assist in planning and road-mapping activities for embedded controller development. + Provide input on project timelines, resource allocation, and technology strategies. + Support aligning project goals with organizational objectives. + Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for control systems innovation and continuous improvement. **What you will bring:**   + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant work experience. + At least 7 years’ experience in controls, electronics, systems, or software engineering experience is required. + At least 2 years’ experience leadership in either people or technical management. **Key Competencies** : + Experience with model-based design processes and modeling & simulation of complex systems is required. + Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a small team of engineers. + Understanding of control system design. Classical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering). + Understanding of optimization techniques is preferred. + Advanced proficiency with Simulink and Stateflow is preferred. Proficiency in Azure DevOps beneficial. + Experience in automating processes is preferred. + Knowledge in refrigeration, vapor compression, or thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is a plus. + Knowledge in compressors, engines, or power electronics is a plus. **Compensation:** **  **   Base Pay Range: $114,000 – 150,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
