Contracts Specialist
🛠️ Contracts Specialist – Aerospace & DefenseOverview Join a dynamic team at the forefront of aerospace innovation. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to support the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts. This role is ideal for professionals with foundational experience in contracts management who are ready to deepen their expertise in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Key Responsibilities + Contract Lifecycle Management + Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a variety of agreements including NDAs, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and prime contracts. + Regulatory Compliance + Ensure all contractual activities align with federal acquisition regulations including FAR, DFARS, and ITAR. Monitor changes and advise internal teams accordingly. + Proposal & Bid Support + Partner with proposal and business development teams to analyze RFPs/RFQs, identify contractual risks, and contribute to winning strategies. + Risk Mitigation + Evaluate terms and conditions for flow-down requirements, indemnification clauses, and other risk factors. Recommend solutions to minimize exposure. + Cross-Functional Collaboration + Interface with legal, finance, procurement, and program management to ensure contract terms support operational and financial goals. + Audit & Documentation + Maintain organized contract files and support internal/external audits with timely and accurate reporting. + Process Optimization + Contribute to the development of contract templates, process workflows, and training materials to improve efficiency and consistency. + Client Communication + Serve as a primary point of contact for contract-related discussions with government agencies, prime contractors, and internal stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications + 5+ years of experience in contracts administration or management, preferably in Aerospace & Defense. + Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other federal acquisition regulations. + Strong redlining and legal language comprehension. + Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. + Comfortable interfacing with clients and external partners. + Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or legal education preferred. + Technical aptitude to support complex aerospace systems (beyond basic manufacturing).
