Raytheon has an immediate opening for a temporary Contracts Manager.  This hybrid role will provide key support to captures and proposals on development programs within the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons portfolio under Raytheon’s Advanced Technology business unit. This area requires quick-turn proposal responses and novel contracting approaches. This position offers the candidate a broad opportunity to engage in varied contract activities across critical execution programs and strategic pursuits. 

The assignment length may vary based on business need but is anticipated to last approximately nine months.

What You Will Do:

Perform as key contributor during the pre-proposal strategy, proposal development, negotiation and start up phases of the program.Lead analysis of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).Lead negotiations.Professionally represent Raytheon on contractual transactions and work closely with customers to develop business relationships.Work with key partners; Program Managers, Business/Finance, Estimating, and advise management of contractual rights/obligations and the means to mitigate contractual/program risks.Seek innovative contracting techniques to ensure mutually benefitting outcomes for both the customer and Raytheon.Identify, mitigate, and facilitate the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise.Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies.Research compliance issues, applicable regulations and laws, and formulate recommendations to management.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experienceExperience in proposal preparation and contract negotiationsExperience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) terms and conditionsU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Prior subcontracts experienceStrong collaboration and relationship building skills cross-functionally with the program office, leads and customers demonstrating trust, respect and accountability   Excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to handle numerous assignments concurrentlyWillingness to provide experienced guidance and support to junior team members on contractual complexities
