Contracts Manager – Houston, TX
Our client is seeking a Contracts Manager to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX, for an initial 1-year assignment, with extensions.
This position will support the client’s LNG project, reporting to the Contracts and Commercial Senior Manager and is accountable for supporting the daily administration, coordination, reporting and management of the EPC Agreement and leading the daily administration, coordination, reporting and management of other construction and operations service contracts supporting the LNG project. This position will interface with all levels of the LNG Project management including construction, operations, engineering, legal and accounting and assist in coordinating with contractor(s) in relation to the Project.
Job Responsibilities: Leading day-to-day administration of the LNG project construction and operations service contracts and agreements. Supporting day-to-day administration of the EPC Agreement and interfaces between the client and the EPC contractor’s contracts and subcontracts functions. Supporting the Contracts and Commercial Senior Manager in monitoring performance of contractual obligations by the client and project contractors. Supporting the Contracts and Commercial Senior Manager in the review and approval of EPC contractor deliverables. Supporting monitoring and reporting of EPC contractor’s subcontractor’s contractual, cost and schedule performances. Supporting initiation, tracking and monitoring of the client’s contract change requests, change orders, amendments, claims, deliverables, and correspondence. Assisting the Contracts and Commercial Senior Manager with EPC Agreement change and claims validation and management, including commercial discussions, coordination of negotiation plans, and identifying project risks and mitigations. Supporting and assistance to all client’s teams relating to contract requirements, management and interpretation. Reviewing contractor invoices and resolving invoicing issues with the contractors. Maintaining the project service contract information database and generating information for regular and special projects. Preparation of special reports or conduct of special projects as assigned. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field with emphasis on business or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience. 8+ years of work experience with emphasis on large cost reimbursable EPC contracts related to the construction and operation functions in the LNG industry preferred. Significant direct, on site, construction contract administration experience. Good working knowledge and experience in administration of large EPC contracts. Familiarity with applicable legal and contract terminology, conditions and governmental regulations related to petrochemical construction in Louisiana and the United States. Experience with complex negotiations and multidiscipline issue resolution. Ability to handle complex and highly confidential matters in a professional manner. Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Flexibility and ability to work in a team setting supporting multiple customers in a variety of environments and to interact effectively with counterparts from diverse backgrounds. Excellent organization skills and work ethic. Sense of initiative with desire to become truly involved in the business. Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people. Willingness to relocate to and work an extended work schedule at the LNG project site during project construction. Willingness to undertake both domestic and international business travel. Willing to perform short term international assignments at the client’s module fabrication locations. Willingness to learn. Preferred Skills: Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with team and all levels of management and employees. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines with a sense of urgency. Strong computer skills required with strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint and other web-based systems. Customer service and solutions oriented.
