CONTRACTS LEAD - DREDGING

We are working with our client based in Qatar to source a CONTRACTS LEAD - DREDGING. This is residential contract to be based in Qatar.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Sciences, Law, Engineering, or supply Chain Management.

Experience: 8 years’ experience in business-related functions such as contracts management, including at least 4 years in oil & gas industry, and including 1 year in supervisory or acting role. Knowledge in project business related functions such as planning, cost control, claims management, change management, pre and post award contract management, support services, lessons learned etc. Significant experience with EPC contractors, subcontractors in major projects, including contract administration, claims management, services, and contractor performance management. Experience in working within multi-disciplinary project teams in complex, high-value environments. In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial terms and conditions, and claims/dispute resolution. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, Ability to interpret engineering and technical documentation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement contract strategies to ensure alignment with project objectives and commercial best practices.
2. Lead contract negotiations with contractors to secure optimal commercial and risk positions for the company.
3. Administer contracts in compliance with contractual terms and conditions and ensure timely resolution of claims and variations.
4. Evaluate contractors’ performance against contractual obligations to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
5. Prepare and issue contractual correspondence to manage compliance, change orders, and disputes effectively, review and validate invoices for payment.
6. Advise project teams on contract interpretation and risk mitigation strategies to support informed decision-making.
7. Draft contractual documents and prepare change order analysis and valuation in accordance with contractual requirements.
8. Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to address complex contractual and liability issues.
9. Ensure accurate contract records and documentation are maintained in line with company procedures and audit requirements.
10. Contribute to the development of contract management policies and templates to enhance functional excellence.
