Contracts Analyst

Our client, a leading player in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Contracts Analyst to join their team in Calgary, AB. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, supporting critical commercial activities and contract processes across the organization.
As a Contracts Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and executing a wide range of agreements, managing trade confirmations, ensuring compliance with internal processes, and supporting the continuous improvement of contract management practices.
Who You AreDegree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of contract management experience, ideally in commodities or oil & gas.
Strong understanding of commodity contracts, delivery terms, and Incoterms.
Skilled in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts.
Bilingual in English and French preferred.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working independently and in a team setting.
Experience with ERP systems, CLM systems (iCertis), Monday.com, MS Office, and SharePoint is an asset.
Professional designation (CCM Practitioner or similar) and knowledge of commercial insurance are assets.
What You Will Be DoingDraft, review, amend, and renew sales, service, supplier, and transportation agreements.
Review and approve trades, ensuring accurate and compliant ERP setup.
Confirm trade details with counterparties, resolve discrepancies, and manage timely confirmations.
Prepare and issue trade confirmations for review, sign-off, and execution.
Support logistics and operations teams with agreement execution.
Maintain organized filing of contracts and related documents.
Improve contract templates and processes, including exploring automation opportunities.
Train and educate internal teams on updated processes.
Provide reports and project support to the Contracts Manager.
