Job Title: Quality Inspector Location: Coventry Contract Duration: 6 months Shift Pattern: Following training, Mon – Thurs 07:00 – 15:30, Fri 07:00 – 12:30 The Contractor Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and tests on incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with Parker-Meggitt specifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards. Working from engineering drawings, quality plans, and work instructions, this role verifies dimensions, appearance, documentation, and functional characteristics using appropriate measuring and test equipment. The inspector accurately records inspection results, identifies nonconformances, and supports root cause analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and Operations. This position helps maintain product integrity, supports on-time delivery, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to Parker’s quality management system and EHS requirements. Key Responsibilities + Responsible for product assurance activities including inspecting and certifying product in manufacturing and at goods inwards. + Programme / operate CMM equipment and generate reports to ensure the conformance of product. + Operate specialist test and measuring equipment. Also, provide product assurance support services to achieve production requirements and to maintain calibration and quality standards. + Carry out where required a continuous programme of Process Control Audits in all areas including Supplies, Manufacturing, Assembly and Despatch, in order to ensure Process Control is carried out in conjunction with current quality standards. + Undertake First Article Inspection in accordance with Quality Procedure (QP) requirements. + Be accountable for the accuracy/quality and correctness of the task performed. Work to eliminate/minimise undetected errors, which could reduce customer confidence and/or the efficiency of the cell's operation. + Develop and maintain good relationships with all contacts. The ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the team's objectives and performance is an important element of the role. Some interfacing with people external to the Company will occur. + Carry out all other tasks necessary in support of the Product and Quality Assurance role that are required to support the business. + Record and process non-conformances using the appropriate Systems. + Use of the business system to record entry into stock and able to make stock adjustments. + Raise concessions / production permits using the appropriate Systems. Key Accountabilities + To attend and contribute to Daily Team meetings and to support the ongoing progression of PLS within a HPC environment.. + Ability to work within and contribute to a team type approach of working and participate in the continual improvement process essential for the ongoing development of the cell. + Individual Process Control (PC) stamping (or electronic equivalent) of planning cards to certify inspection / quality conformance of the product being processed & that the correct process technique was followed. + To maintain component traceability of parts throughout the manufacturing process & reporting of any documentation errors to supervision. + Responsible for the associated paperwork that supports the manufacturing documentation required for the product being processed. + To maintain good housekeeping and 6-S in the work area. + Comply with company and HS&E procedures. + To ensure compliance with any regulations for the control of technical data (i.e. DFARS, ITAR etc). + Undergo training if required in order to perform particular aspects of this role. + Job holder may be requested to train others on the tasks associated with this role. + The working of shift patterns may be required to meet on-going business requirements. + Carry out special duties as assigned. What you need to be successful in the role + CMM inspection experience using inspection measuring equipment e.g. verniers, mic etc. + 1 years similar experience in an engineering manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace. + Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings/ operational tool layouts + Ability to operate various inspection and test equipment and be fully conversant with drawing and other documentation standards (e.g. BPs, departmental specific procedures, Engineering Standards etc). + Basic computer skills are desirable e.g. Outlook, Excel + Demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision. + Good planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, oral and written communication skills are required.
