Position Summary:

The Operational Lead – Contracting Hub plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of contracting processes across the organization. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end operational activities related to contract lifecycle management, with a strong focus on compliance, stakeholder engagement, and process optimization. The Operational Lead will serve as a key liaison between internal teams (Legal, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Medical, and R&D) and external partners, ensuring that contracting operations are executed efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role offers opportunities for strategic influence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. In addition, the Operational Lead will manage a team of consultants, overseeing their onboarding, training, and day-to-day performance. This leadership responsibility includes fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture, ensuring consultants are equipped with the tools and knowledge to deliver operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

Contract Lifecycle Management: Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, including initiation, negotiation, execution, amendment, renewal, and closeout, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulations.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing guidance on contracting processes, timelines, and requirements. Foster strong relationships across departments to support business needs.Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all contracting activities adhere to company SOPs and legal standards. Proactively identify and escalate compliance risks, and collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to resolve issues.Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process simplification, automation, and standardization within the Contracting Hub. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Data Quality & Documentation: Ensure accuracy and completeness of contract documentation. Conduct regular quality control checks and maintain audit-ready records.Training & Governance: Partner with Governance and Training Leads to deliver training programs and resources to internal teams. Promote awareness of contracting policies and best practices.Cross-Border Coordination: Support international contracting activities, ensuring compliance with local and global transparency requirements.Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of operational issues related to contracting, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.Reporting & Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to track contracting performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.Innovation & Best Practices: Share insights, innovations, and examples of good practice across the organization to foster a culture of excellence.Leadership & Collaboration: May deputize for the Contracting Hub Global Lead during periods of absence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic projects and initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

Either at least 2 years’ experience as Meeting Management Specialist or a similar role externally.Undergraduate degree preferredExperience of leading and managing projects of varying complexityExpertise in end-to-end meeting management including contracting, payments, and event management.Has an expert understanding of internal compliance processes and external statutory code requirements across the local market, including transfer of value reporting in relation to HCP meetings and transactions and HCP tiering/payment ratesUnderstanding of corporate infrastructure and deployment methodologies in order to drive continuous improvementFluent in both spoken and written English

Demonstrated leadership skills with a team-orientated approachDemonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in an internal and external matrix environment, with strong interpersonal and influencing skillsStrong written and verbal communication to facilitate relationships with peers and managementDemonstrated ability to assess, escalate where appropriate and promptly resolve problemsDemonstrated ability to apply strong quantitative and analytical skills to provide business solutions with a customer-centric focusDemonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in line with business needsProven ability to demonstrate an innovation mind-set, including simplification of processesDemonstrated high level of proficiency in using IT and online systems for managing processes and reporting purposes
