Contract Manufacturing Manager

Millions of people rely on our trusted brands, including **Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®** , and **Glucerna®** , to meet their nutritional needs. **Primary Function** The Contract Manufacturing Manager serves as the main point of contact between Abbott and a Third‑Party Manufacturer (TPM). This role focuses on managing the long‑term strategic relationship while supporting day‑to‑day activities to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient supply. The ideal candidate will enjoy building strong working relationships, supporting continuous improvement, and helping ensure that products are delivered on time and in full. A solid understanding of manufacturing or supply chain processes, financial considerations, and cross‑functional collaboration will contribute to success in this role. **Key Responsibilities** + Act as the primary liaison between Abbott Nutrition and the TPM, supporting and developing a strong, collaborative working partnership. + Support contract negotiation and maintenance; monitor performance against agreed targets and KPIs. + Coordinate and support the resolution of manufacturing and supply chain issues. + Ensure effective supply chain planning and financial reporting practices are in place at the TPM. + Work proactively with the TPM to identify and address any potential risks to product quality or availability. + Ensure appropriate capacity, capability, and systems exist to maintain a stable and cost‑effective supply. + Work closely with internal teams including Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, PMO, Procurement, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Production Planning, and Logistics. + Monitor key performance indicators and work with partners to identify improvement opportunities. + Lead regular business review meetings with the TPM, focusing on performance, priorities, and improvement plans. + Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for production or supply issues and collaborate with SMEs to confirm effectiveness. + Manage activities related to New Product Introductions (NPI), including R&D trials, first production runs, and commercialization planning. + Assess financial scenarios and share clear recommendations with senior leadership. + Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including cost, process, and lead‑time enhancements. + Share best practices across Abbott’s internal and external supply chain network. + Partner with Procurement to ensure transparency on pricing structures and support pricing discussions as needed. + Manage TPM P&L elements including standard setting, cost changes, and purchase price variance. **Education & Experience Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. + 3–5 years in one or more of the following areas: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, Production Planning, Customer Service, or Quality. + Experience in nutritional, regulated, or complex business environments is beneficial. **Skills & Competencies** + A collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in building strong working relationships. + Well‑organized with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment. + Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work. + Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams and engaging with different areas of the business. + An interest in project management and financial analysis, with confidence handling data. + Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and learn new processes. + Clear and friendly communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a simple way. + Enjoys solving problems and approaching challenges with logical, practical thinking. **Location & Travel** + **Location:** Sligo, Ireland + **Travel:** Approximately **20–30%** , including visits to TPM sites and attendance at company meetings.
