Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech We are searching for the best talent for **Contract Manufacturing Engineering Intern** to be in **Santa Clara, CA.** + The Intern term is from June to August, 2026. + Full time requirement (40 hours per week). **Purpose:** The Contract Manufacturing Engineering Intern will participate and assist in creating/updating, drawings, specifications, and labels. The Intern will also participate in data analysis, methodology improvement projects and design of experiments and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles with the goal of reducing the processing time per unit. **You will be responsible:** + Observe and analyze manufacturing process for IVL catheters/Generator manufacturing. + Review component specifications (e.g., drawings, inspection plans) for completeness. + Update component drawings using SOLIDWORKS under guidance from Engineering. + Assist with process improvements and projects related to contract manufacturing. + Learn to operate inspection equipment (e.g., vision measurement, burst tester, tensile tester). + Analyze engineering data to help Management in decision-making. + Perform testing per released test methods and initial analysis of gathered data. + Support developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for different functions. + Create EBR’ to build test samples from the defective balloons, grouped by the type of defect. + Work with suppliers to get material status and understand the processes. + Analyze data, create ER to report the results. Update visual standards based on test results. + Develop standard work, update Manufacturing Process Instructions, LHRs, DMR, drawings, specification, and labels. + Learn basics of Document Control/Change Management. **Qualifications / Requirements:** + Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required. + Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields. + Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework. + Understanding of statistical principles applied to manufacturing environments. + Basic knowledge of project management principles to track deliverables, and status of the project. + High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. + Must have good verbal and written communication skills. + High attention to detail and organizational skills. + Operate as a team or independently under management guidance. Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship. The expected pay range for this position is between $26.50 per hour and $59.00 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year.
