Contract Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Bronx, NY

Contract Duration: August 25 – November 16, 2025

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Contract Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our team during a temporary leave period. This role will provide critical EHS coverage and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations across our operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in safety, environmental engineering, and/or industrial hygiene, preferably within pharmaceutical or regulated environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide EHS consulting and support across departments including Manufacturing, Laboratories, Warehouse, and Engineering.Conduct inspections, audits, investigations, and ergonomic assessments.Develop and deliver EHS training programs and ensure ongoing compliance.Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.Design and test EHS systems and coordinate regulatory documentation.Monitor environmental compliance and hazardous waste management.Maintain accurate records and follow up on audit findings.Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma required.A Bachelor’s Degree in a related Safety or Environmental field may substitute for experience.

Experience:

3–5 years of experience in EHS, environmental compliance, or industrial hygiene.Experience in pharmaceutical operations is highly desirable.

Skills & Knowledge:

Proficiency in EHS management systems and hazardous waste regulations.Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant compliance standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of toxic/reactive chemistry and hazard communication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $60.10/hr.
