Contract Administrator Senior Principal
**Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Contracts Professional to join our Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Contract Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will drive operational excellence across the contracts function, ensuring full compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. This Contracts Administrator Senior Principal opportunity is for an experienced contracts professional seeking to enhance their business acumen skills, career knowledge, and exposure to the SMS sectors' business operations, management, products, programs, and customers. **What You ll Do:** + Policy, Governance, and Compliance: + Develop and implement contracts policies, standards, and playbooks that align with company procedures and regulatory requirements. + Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with contract terms, customer flow downs, and internal delegations of authority. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret new or updated regulations and customer requirements, translating them into practical processes and guidance. + Tools, Systems, and Data: + Serve as a subject matter expert for contract-related tools, such as Contract Lifecycle Management system and document repositories. + Define and maintain data standards, templates, and filing structures to ensure contract records are complete, current, and audit-ready. + Training, Enablement, and Change Management: + Design and deliver training programs for the contracts organization and functional partners on policies, procedures, tools, and best practices. + Act as a coach to program and contracts analysts, providing guidance on complex contractual scenarios and risk trade-offs. + SMS Enterprise and Contract Operations Support: + Partner with cross-functional teams to shape tools, enhance operational feasibility, and contractual compliance. + Support cradle-to-grave contract operations, including intake, setup, funding, and closeout. + Leadership and Strategic Responsibilities: + Serve as a senior leader and manager in the absence of the Contract Operations Director, ensuring seamless continuity of contract operations and strategic initiatives. + Represent SMS Contracts Ops in high-level external meetings with industry partners, US Government customers, and other stakeholders, driving business growth and fostering relationships. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams within SMS and across other BAE Systems Sectors and BAE Systems, Inc. (Headquarters) to integrate projects, drive synergies, and align contract operations with company-wide objectives. + Independently perform special assignments and research projects in support of the SMS Vice President Contracts, driving strategic initiatives and providing expert guidance on complex contractual matters. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site three or more days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS/BA in related field plus 8 years or more years of related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + Expert-level knowledge of, and experience with, FAR, DFAR, and other relevant rules and regulations. + Experience with OTAs and Commercial Item Determination. + Solid knowledge of intellectual property and policies. + Proven ability to lead and close complex negotiations requiring Current Cost or Pricing Data and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data certification. + Experience with agreements to support business development, program management, and engineering development teams (e.g., NDAs, teaming, bailment agreements, etc.). + Experience dealing with the US Government and major industry defense & electronics companies, as your customer. + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex contractual concepts for non-contracts stakeholders. + Independent, take-charge, self-starter able to identify gaps or issues, develop solutions, and implement changes as needed with minimal oversight. \#LI-LO1 A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
