Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking a Contract Administrator/Inspector for employment in Kitchener, ON. The successful candidate will have an understanding of civil engineering technology, CAD, and have proven experience in the Contract Administration/Inspection of municipal wastewater infrastructure construction projects. You will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. You will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. You will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater and stormwater sector.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate and monitor the flow of materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery in line with project schedules and procurement plansCollaborate closely with procurement and project management teams to align delivery schedules with construction or production milestonesWork with Project Manager, Design Team, Client and Construction Contractor in expediting solutions to technical field problems Expedite Supplier documentation and review construction submittalsMonitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirementsCoordinate inspections, provide regular updates to project team and the Client, review and prepare contractor payment applications, and respond to RFI’s.Issue Change Orders, Change Directives, Site InstructionsParticipate in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changesParticipate in the resolution of delay and other claims by the contractorParticipate in and document all construction meetings onsite (progress meeting, commissioning meeting, etc.)Participate/coordinate in testing and commissioning activitiesEnsure compliance with contractual delivery terms and project requirementsQualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in contract administration, procurement, or commercial management within complex, project-driven environmentsCertified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and TechnologistsDemonstrated experience managing full contract life cycles, from pre-award to close-out, in industries such as construction, engineering, infrastructure, or Water and WastewaterFamiliarity with contract law, terms and conditions, and commercial agreements and risk allocationDriving license and access to own vehiclePreferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and/or site inspection Experience in supporting large-scale, high-value projects or public/private sector contractsUnderstanding of construction project sequencing (e.g., mobilization, shop drawing reviews, construction, start-up and commissioning, project closeout, etc.)Able to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and specifications is an assetAbility to work in teams, respond to changing demands, be decisive under pressure, and can remain calm when interfacing with internal and external personnelProactive mindset, excellent communication and problem-solving skills while working with internal teams, clients, and suppliersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentConstruction inspection experienceGood time management skills and attention to detailComfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environmentAdditional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.About AECOM
