An opportunity has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join the Naval business based out of Walpole, MA.

Rolls-Royce has entered into an agreement to divest a portion of our business to Fairbanks Morse Defense. As part of this agreement, the role you are applying for will transition to Fairbanks Morse Defense after the closing of the transaction, expected mid-year 2025.

What you will be doing:

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to play an integral role supporting the business objectives in manufacturing and non-manufacturing environments by developing and coaching the employees to deliver improvements.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with a cross-functional team of professionals to drive change and achieve business deliverables.


Key Accountabilities

Lead improvement programs and projects with effective problem solving methodologies or cutting edge tool sets. Continually analyse the business processes to highlight opportunities for change and improvement.Delivering and monitoring financial and customer benefits throughout the life of improvement projects while supporting company and functional process owners and users to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.Act as an improvement coach, training and mentoring Green and Yellow Belts in continuous improvement, project delivery, through to accreditation. Coach the business unit leadership in the delivery of Production System minimum standards.Identifying and establishing areas of best practice through external and internal benchmarking, so as to enhance our continuous improvement strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree within a manufacturing and non-manufacturing environment, and 5+ years work experience OR;Master's Degree within a manufacturing and non-manufacturing environment, and 3+ years work experience OR;9+ years’ experience in lieu of degree.Excellent communication, written, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as influencing and collaboration skills, and the ability to train, coach and facilitate others in the use of process improvement methodologies and tools.Able to work accurately and at pace. Driven to succeed and can take the lead in identifying project requirements, specifying and executing packages of work.In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Green Belt or Black Belt certification.Experience with program and/or project management.Experience leading Kaizen events, value stream mapping, problem solving and lead time reduction.Knowledge of data driven improvement methods & toolsKnowledge of the Rolls-Royce Production System.
