Continuing Education (CE) Compliance Specialist

The continuing education compliance specialist will ensure that our operations and processes comply with the legal and regulatory standards, procedures, and policies of the governing bodies across Canada. The duties of the role will include managing the effective implementation, maintenance, and administration of accredited content and tracking attendance/completions, handling complaints, and liaising with governing bodies and internal business partners.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to build relationships with internal and external contacts to ensure regulatory, corporate, and fiduciary obligations are met through strong analytical thinking skills, time management and a high level of organization. The continuing education compliance specialist acts as the subject matter expert in each governing body’s licensing requirements and their submission tools and procedures.
**Primary Functions:**
+ Act as the subject-matter expert in each governing body’s licensing requirements and their submission tools and procedures.
+ Manage information regarding CE credit completion and efficiently and accurately track data.
+ Offer exceptional customer experience while responding to queries (internal and external) regarding CE credits.
+ Oversee and provide training and support to internal business partners to ensure they adhere to the rules and regulations of the governing bodies.
+ Manage the accreditation and issuing of completions for over 700 events across all of Canadian Division.
+ Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and developments, monitor risk, identifies, and corrects gaps and weaknesses.
+ Identify risks and implement appropriate actions to mitigate them.
+ Understand the implications of new regulatory policies and implementation of new or revised policies and programs. Communicate changes in governing bodies requirements to the correct groups.
+ Implement all changes required by the Governing Bodies into Manulife’s CE Credit tools and processes.
+ Screen and evaluate content submitted by internal clients to determine if is applicable/acceptable for CE Credits and provide suggestions of how to enhance content to receive approval/additional CE Credits.
+ Submit all CE Credit applications to the governing bodies. This includes submission, receipt, tracking, correspondence, and handling of inquiries from the governing bodies.
+ Continuous process improvement to increase efficiency.
+ Work with event team to issue credits for Manulife’s large accredited corporate events. (i.e., from the scanning results, sessions from multiple people, etc.)
+ Performs audits and to ensure we’re compliant with regulations, identifying any potential and actual violations
+ Produce reports on audit and investigation findings. Respond to regulatory compliance inquiries and concerns from licensees and regulators
+ Track and report on CE credit submissions, including monitoring volume, costs by business unit and identify any changes in requirements or regulations impacting submissions.
+ Pull data feeds, produce V-lookups, update spreadsheets, and post information on internal and external sites.
+ Escalate complex or unusual issues to management team as needed. Seek innovative solutions, including initiating cross-departmental collaboration.
+ Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the business we support clearly understands the regulator's requirements.
+ Manage operational and business risk by performing risk assessment and identification and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact to operations, partners, and reputation
+ Analyze multiple streams of data and develop reporting to track trends and the effectiveness of accreditation in alignment with the needs of the user, the business strategies, and corporate values.
+ Oversee accreditation budget and ensure cost efficiency.
+ Promote the Manulife CE Centre by attending events, giving presentations to internal client groups, and answering questions.

**Qualifications:**
+ Post-secondary education or equivalent
+ Proficient with Microsoft Excel
+ Strong oral and writing communication, critical thinking, relationship management, and project management skills
+ Strong organizational skills with an ability to meet and work within tight deadlines
+ Excellent attention to detail
+ Ability to prioritize high volumes of work under stressful and changing circumstances
+ Ability to meet and work within timely deadlines
+ Experience dealing with large quantities of data
+ Efficient and accurate data entry
+ Developed relationship management skills and interpersonal skills which model corporate core values; a positive, can-do attitude in all situations
+ Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules

**Salary range is expected to be between**
$50,700.00 CAD - $84,500.00 CAD
